Automated Monthly Donations - any amount

Our recovery program has not yet been officially certified by the government, but when we get it, the government certification will give us many benefits. A BIG one is that there is a law in Costa Rica that when police confiscate property, cars or money from drug traffickers, they are required to donate what was confiscated to a certified addiction recovery center. There are very few certified recovery centers in the country.

What is preventing us from being certified is that we have to demonstrate financial stability for one year out. What is supporting us now, are horse and farm tours. But since the pandemic closed the borders and airports, we had no tourists here for 11 months and they very slowly trickled in after that. That is why we cannot count tourism as reliable, stable income. BUT, what we CAN count on is monthly automated donations to prove our financial stability. We need to have a total amount to meet our monthly budget, which is $8,000 per month (available on request).  If you would like to help us get certified with an automated monthly donation of any amount, Click the box to make a monthly donation.

Construction Tools - Various Amounts

For the various construction and repairs that we do and want to build around the farm, we need various tools. These can be purchased and brought in a suitcase or they can be purchased here, but it is more expensive to buy here.

The best brand to be durable and find replacement brushes and batteries and things like that, is DeWalt as it is sold and serviced here in Costa Rica. This becomes a big deal when parts wear out and cannot be replaced easily or quickly.

Tools that are on our wish list right now are:

Cordless Drill

Cordless Impact drill

Chop saw

Table saw

Band saw

Adopt a Horse - $150 monthly

Our horses and the therapy they provide are the backbone of our project. We are the only Free residential trauma and addiction recovery in the World that is using Natural Horsemandship training methocs and Equine Therapy as a major part of our therapy program.

With your help, we can keep this Free so the homeless and poor can recieve the therapy they so desperatly need. We don’t want to be just your average Free low-end recovery center. We want to the best in the World. You can help us by adopting and sponsoring a specific horse that you choose.

$150 per month will provide all the hay, grass, pasture, grain, minerals and vitamins, vaccines, dewormer and routine veterinary care that our horses need. Please choose one now and support this horse’s needs.

Used Toyota Pick-up Truck - $20,000-$25,000

We are really in need of a used 4×4 pick-up truck for work around the farm and many reasons. We can buy hay for about $1.00 per bale cheaper if we pick it up ourselves. We need to pull a trailer to move our horses, cows and other livestock around for various reasons. We are currently buying 800 pounds of animal grains per week and are having to use our passenger van to pick it up or pay a truck to have it delivered. When we have a truck, we will be able to pick up donated torn sacks of animal feed that we can’t pick up in our passenger van.

We would like it to be a Toyota truck because this is by far the easiest to find repair parts for and also is the strongest for our rough roads in Guanacaste, our province. Vehicles in Costa Rica cost nearly double what they cost in North America. We would like to budget between $20,000 and $25,000 for a used Toyota 4×4 crew cab, manual transmission truck in good mechanical condition.

Used Synthetic Saddles - $150 - $400

The used saddles we bought 10 years ago to start our horse tours have worn out and need to be replaced. They will last much longer if they are made of synthetic materials due to the salt water that we ride our horses in. These are also much lighter weight to bring in a suitcase.

Most of our saddles were bought used/pre-owned on Ebay or from Facebook marketplace. The most common brands we like to use are either Wintec or Big Horn.

Most tourists prefer to ride in a western style saddle, but we do have many that actually request or prefer the English type of saddle. We can use any size saddle from childrens’ to large adult size.

If you can find anyone that will donate any type of saddle, I’m sure we can use it if you can get it to Costa Rica.
